One great plus that Reinach has to offer is its attractive and valuable green surroundings. Especially noteworthy is the Reinacher Heide (Reinach heath), the largest intact natural landscape in Reinach's municipal area. It is a dry landscape of national significance. Hedgerows alternate with dry grassland and provide a habitat for many rare and endangered species of plants and animals. The Reinach heath is a nature conservation area and a popular destination for ramblers from miles around. The Leywald (woods) on the western border of the borough also offers space in which to recuperate. Those who go for a walk through it can follow the charmingly laid out Waldlehrpfad (forest trail), which starts next to the buildings of the Fiechten school, or the Skulpturenweg (sculpture trail) with its beautiful wooden statues depicting figures from the world of fairy tales. In the Tierpark (animal park) in two large enclosures are to be found types of deer, ducks, geese and other birds. Reinach is part of the Birseck Network of Paths with numerous footpaths and cycling paths. The cycling network has been expanded continuously and connected up with the cantonal cycling network. At particularly beautiful points there are benches and picnic areas. The view out over the Birseck is especially impressive from along the Hollenweg.
