Anyone wishing to take up residence in Reinach and who holds a foreign resident's I.D. can register in the Local Council's Town Office. Registration costs CHF 20 and has to be completed within fourteen days of moving here. You have to appear at the counter personally and bring the following documents with you:

• Passport from your country of origin
• The Swiss foreign resident's I.D. which confirms your residence status
• A confirmation from your employer or a work permit from the KIGA in Pratteln
• Medical insurance certificates for all members of the family
• The rental contract or deeds of or purchase for a residence in Reinach
• For families: marriage certificate plus the birth certificates of the children
• Two photos of all members of the family

Anyone wishing to move to Switzerland from abroad first has to apply for a foreign resident's I.D. The application is also prepared by the Town Office and forwarded by them to the relevant office. The office responsible for issuing foreign residents I.D.s is the:
